Looking for a quick and easy pre or post workout snack? These little protein bars are sure you keep you fuelled up. Made using just a handful of ingredients, naturally sweetened by the banana (the riper the better!), they aren’t super sweet but they do have a lovely moist texture. The ingredients makes around 6 servings – or as many as you like- so you could easily double the mix if you fancy.

100g oats
50g vanilla protein powder
1 tsp baking powder
12g chia seeds
1 large ripe banana
260ml milk
10g cacao powder
40g dark chocolate, chopped into chunks

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C and line, or grease, a small baking tray (I used a 10×8″ oven proof dish).
  2. Using a food processor, firstly blitz the oats unlike it becomes a flour-like consistency.  Add all remaining ingredients (except the chocolate chunks) and blitz until everything is throughly combined. Stir through the chocolate chunks, keeping a few to sprinkle on top.
  3. Transfer mixture to an oven proof dish and top with remaining chocolate chunks.
  4. Bake In oven for approx 25 mins. Remove and allow to complete cool- the mix may still seem a little runny at few but this will set as it cools. Slice in the squares or bars, and enjoy!
